Responsible Gambling

BTCMAN's gambling content — crypto casino reviews, bonuses, slots and sports betting — is only for adults aged 18 or over, or the legal gambling age where you live if that is higher.

Gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money, pay bills or clear debts. Only play with money you can afford to lose, and treat what you spend as the cost of the fun. Gambling with cryptocurrency adds risks of its own, which we cover below.

Warning signs of problem gambling

Gambling may be becoming a problem if any of these sound familiar:

  • Chasing losses — playing on, or depositing again, to win back money you've lost.
  • Spending more money or time on gambling than you planned.
  • Borrowing money to gamble or to cover gambling losses.
  • Hiding your gambling, or how much you spend, from family and friends.
  • Gambling to escape problems, stress or a low mood.
  • Neglecting work, study, family or other responsibilities because of gambling.

If you recognise any of these in yourself, it's worth talking to someone. The helplines listed below are free and open 24/7.

How to stay in control

  • Set a budget and a time limit before you start playing, and stop when you reach either one.
  • Use the tools your casino offers, where available: deposit, loss and session limits, reality checks (reminders of how long you've been playing), time-outs and self-exclusion.
  • Never gamble with money you need for rent, bills, food or other essentials.
  • Don't gamble when you're upset, stressed or angry, or after drinking.
  • Accept losses as the cost of playing — don't try to win them back.

BTCMAN doesn't run a casino or take bets, so limits and self-exclusion are set with the casino you play at. Not every casino offers every tool, so check what's available before you deposit.

The extra risks of gambling with crypto

  • Prices swing. A deposit can be worth more or less by the time you withdraw, which makes it harder to see how much you have really won or lost. Setting your budget in your everyday currency rather than in coins helps.
  • Transactions are irreversible. Once a crypto payment is sent it can't be cancelled or charged back, so double-check addresses and amounts before you send.
  • Fewer protections. No-KYC and offshore casinos may offer fewer player protections and weaker routes for complaints if something goes wrong. Check how a casino handles disputes before you deposit.
  • Keep records. Note every deposit and withdrawal — date, coin, amount and its value at the time — so you always know where you stand.

Blocking gambling sites

Blocking software puts a barrier between you and gambling sites, which can help if you want to take a break or stop. BetBlocker is free and blocks gambling sites and apps on your devices.

If you want to stop gambling at a particular casino, ask it to self-exclude you as well.

Protecting under-18s

Gambling by minors is illegal, and BTCMAN's gambling content is not intended for anyone under 18 or under the legal gambling age where they live.

If children use your phone, computer or tablet:

  • Turn on the parental controls built into the device, its app store and its browser.
  • Install a blocking tool such as BetBlocker.
  • Don't share your casino or crypto wallet passwords, and don't leave accounts signed in on shared devices.
