Getting started
What is a crypto casino?
A crypto casino is an online casino that accepts cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) or stablecoins like USDT, for deposits and withdrawals. The games are the familiar ones: slots, table games, live dealer tables and, on many sites, simple in-house games such as dice or crash. The big difference from a regular online casino is how money moves in and out, which changes how fees, payout times and risks work. Our Crypto Casino Basics guide walks through it step by step.
Is it legal to play at a crypto casino?
It depends on where you live. Some countries license online casinos, some only allow local operators and some ban online gambling altogether. Many crypto casinos are licensed offshore rather than in their players' home countries, and the protection a licence gives you varies a lot between regulators. Check the law where you live and the casino's list of restricted countries before you sign up, because getting around a restriction, for example with a VPN, can lead to a closed account and withheld winnings.
Do I need a crypto wallet?
You need somewhere to send crypto from and receive it back: either an exchange account, where the provider holds the keys, or a self-custody wallet, where you do. An exchange account is easier to start with, but the provider can freeze or delay transfers, and some restrict payments to gambling sites. A self-custody wallet puts you in full control, but if you lose its seed phrase nobody can recover your funds. Never share your seed phrase: no genuine casino, exchange or support agent will ever ask for it.
Which cryptocurrencies can I use?
It varies by casino. Bitcoin, Ethereum and stablecoins such as USDT and USDC are common, and some casinos accept many more. If you want your balance to keep its dollar value while you play, stablecoins remove most of the price swing. You can filter our crypto casino listings by currency, and our comparison table shows the coins listed for each casino. Always confirm in the casino's cashier before you send anything.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 18, or the legal gambling age where you live if that is higher. Casinos can ask you to prove your age, especially before paying out, and accounts opened by minors can be closed and their winnings voided. BTCMAN's content is for adults only.
Deposits and withdrawals
How long do crypto withdrawals take?
A withdrawal has two stages. First the casino processes your request, which can be instant or take hours or days, depending on the casino, the amount and whether a manual review is needed. Then the transaction is sent to the blockchain, where it needs confirmations: seconds or minutes on fast networks, longer on Bitcoin, especially when the network is busy. “Instant withdrawal” claims describe the first stage only. Our reviews show the payout time where it's available, and you can browse our instant withdrawal crypto casinos.
Are there fees on crypto deposits and withdrawals?
Almost every blockchain transaction carries a network fee, paid by whoever sends it. The fee goes to the network (to miners or validators, or partly or wholly burned on networks such as Ethereum and TRON), not to the casino. It depends on the network and how busy it is, so the same coin can cost very different amounts to send on different networks. When you deposit you pay it, and exchanges often charge their own withdrawal fee when you send from them; on a withdrawal the casino sends the transaction, and some casinos charge a withdrawal fee or pass the network fee on to you. Check the cashier and terms before you deposit, and remember that fees taken on the sending side can push a small deposit below the casino's minimum.
Which network should I send on?
Many coins run on more than one blockchain; USDT, for example, exists on TRON (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20), among others. Always send on exactly the network the casino's deposit page shows for that address, and include the memo or destination tag if one is listed, as XRP and Stellar require. If you send on a network the casino doesn't support for that address, the deposit may never be credited and the funds can be lost. A cheaper network only saves you money if both your wallet and the casino support it. See how to deposit crypto for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Can I cancel or reverse a crypto transaction?
No. Crypto has no chargebacks, and once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain it can't be reversed, so treat every transfer as final the moment you send it; there is no bank to call if the address or network was wrong. Copy and paste addresses rather than typing them, check the whole address, or at least several characters at the start, middle and end, and consider a small test transaction first. Copy the address fresh from its source each time (the casino's deposit page, or your own wallet's receive screen for a withdrawal), not from your transaction history: scammers send tiny amounts from look-alike addresses that match the first and last few characters, hoping you'll copy theirs by mistake.
Why is my withdrawal delayed?
The most common reason is an identity (KYC) or anti-money-laundering (AML) check, which a large withdrawal or unusual activity can trigger even at casinos that didn't ask for documents at sign-up. A withdrawal can also be held because an active bonus still has wagering left, because you've reached a daily, weekly or monthly withdrawal limit, or because the casino holds requests in a pending period before processing them. Check your bonus status and the casino's withdrawal terms, then contact its support through the official site. Once the casino has sent the payment, you can track it by pasting the transaction ID (TXID) into a public block explorer.
Safety and fairness
What does “provably fair” mean?
Provably fair games, usually in-house games like dice, crash or mines, let you check that a result wasn't changed after you placed your bet. Before you bet, the casino shows you a hash (a cryptographic fingerprint) of its secret server seed; your side supplies a client seed, and a nonce, a counter that goes up by one with each bet, gives every bet a fresh input. When you change your seeds, the casino reveals the old server seed, so you can check it matches the hash and recalculate your results with the casino's verifier or an independent tool. For the strongest guarantee, set your own client seed rather than keeping the automatic one. Our guide explains provably fair in more detail.
Does provably fair mean the odds are good?
No. It proves a result wasn't altered after your bet, but it says nothing about whether the odds, house edge or RTP (return to player) are good for you. A provably fair game still has a house edge, so over time you should expect to lose more than you win. It also usually doesn't cover third-party slots, which rely on the game provider's own random number generator (RNG) and its testing, or live dealer games, where the result comes from real cards, wheels or dice on camera.
What is KYC, and what does “no-KYC” mean?
KYC (Know Your Customer) means proving who you are, usually with photo ID and sometimes proof of address or a selfie; casinos use it to meet anti-money-laundering rules, keep out minors and stop fraud. “No-KYC” casinos let you sign up with just an email address or a wallet, but that usually means no documents to start, not never. Checks can still be triggered later, for example on a large withdrawal, and if you can't provide documents then, your payout can be delayed or refused. Lighter checks often come with fewer player protections, so weigh the privacy against that, and always read each casino's verification terms.
How can I spot a risky crypto casino?
Warning signs include vague or hard-to-find terms, no clear information on withdrawal limits or processing times, and a licence you can't look up on the regulator's own website. Be wary of bonuses that look too good to be true, requests to pay a fee or deposit more before a withdrawal is released, and “support agents” who message you first on social media or chat apps. Before you commit, make a small deposit and a small withdrawal to test the cashier and support. Our casino reviews show the payout time and the pros and cons we noted, where available, which can help you compare.
How do I keep my casino account and crypto safe?
Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for your casino, exchange and wallet accounts, ideally with an authenticator app rather than SMS. Use a unique password for each account, bookmark the casino's real site and check the address bar to avoid phishing copies. Nobody legitimate will ask for your seed phrase, private keys or 2FA codes. And don't use a casino as a wallet: withdraw any money you don't plan to play with.
Bonuses
What is a wagering requirement?
A wagering requirement (also called playthrough) is how much you must bet before bonus money, and anything you win with it, can be withdrawn. For example, a $100 bonus with a 40x wagering requirement means placing $4,000 in bets first (40 × $100). Some casinos apply it to your deposit plus the bonus, so a 100% match on a $100 deposit at 40x would mean $8,000 in bets (40 × $200). Wagering counts the total you bet, not what you lose, but the more you have to bet, the more the house edge eats into your balance. Read more on reading bonus terms, or try our bonus wagering calculator to work out the total for a specific offer.
What is a max bet rule?
While a bonus is active, many casinos cap how much you can stake per bet or spin. Going over the cap, even once, can void the bonus and any winnings from it. The limit is set out in the bonus terms, so check it before your first bet.
Do all games count towards wagering?
Not always. Under game weighting, each type of game counts for a set share of your bet: slots often count 100%, while table games, live dealer games or some slots may count partly or not at all. If blackjack counts at 10%, a $10 hand clears only $1 of your wagering requirement. The bonus terms list the weightings and any games you can't play while the bonus is active. Our wagering calculator shows how game contribution changes the amount you need to bet.
Do bonuses expire?
Usually, yes. There is often one deadline to claim a bonus and another to finish the wagering, and some give you only a few days. Whatever is unfinished at the deadline is normally removed, including any bonus winnings. Free spins often have their own, shorter expiry.
What is a max cashout limit?
Some bonuses cap how much you can withdraw from them, however much you win. It's most common on no-deposit bonuses and free spins: with a $100 max cashout, a $500 win from bonus funds would be cut to $100 when you withdraw, and the rest removed. Check for a cap before you opt in, and remember that you can usually decline a bonus and play with your own balance instead.
About BTCMAN
How does BTCMAN rate crypto casinos?
For every casino we review, our team signs up, deposits $50 in crypto, plays, and times 3 withdrawals. The star rating shares our testers' experience from that test. How we rate explains the test and what the rating reflects.
How does BTCMAN make money?
We may earn a commission when you sign up at a casino through our links, at no extra cost to you. It does not change how we test: every casino we review goes through the same test.
How often are reviews updated?
Each review shows the date it was last updated. Casino offers and terms can change at any time, so check the current bonus and withdrawal terms on the casino's own site before you deposit.
Is BTCMAN a casino?
No. BTCMAN reviews and compares crypto casinos; we don't run a casino or take bets. Questions about your account, deposits, withdrawals or bonuses need to go to the casino's own support team.
Responsible gambling
What are the signs of a gambling problem?
Warning signs include chasing losses, spending more money or time than you planned, borrowing to gamble, hiding your gambling from people close to you, and gambling to escape stress or a low mood. If any of these sound familiar, it's worth talking to someone. Our responsible gambling page covers the warning signs and tools that can help.
How can I set limits or self-exclude?
Because BTCMAN doesn't run a casino, limits and self-exclusion are set with the casino you play at. Look in your account settings, or ask support, for deposit, loss and session limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion; not every casino offers every tool, so check before you deposit. It also helps to set your budget in your everyday currency rather than in coins, because crypto prices move.
Where can I get help?
If gambling is causing problems for you, or you're worried it might be, free and confidential support is available. Our responsible gambling page lists support services and how to reach them.
