The new Twitter executive said the company will have a "golden check," a "gray check" for government accounts, and an existing "blue check" for individuals, regardless of their celebrity status.

Musk further clarified:
“All verified individual humans will have same blue check, as boundary of what constitutes “notable” is otherwise too subjective. Individuals can have secondary tiny logo showing they belong to an org if verified as such by that org.“
For its part, the subscription service is Musk's attempt to find new revenue streams. Inequality Media co-founder Robert Reich explained today that Musk is "aggressively destroying" the things he buys by firing and firing company employees.
